The Founders

From across the sea they came, two princes and their sisters, from a land where immortals dwell. Their mother, legend says, was the queen of that land, a woman of great power who could bend people to her will and kill with a glance. The princes were fair beyond anything we had seen and there was light on their brows. It was said they were great warriors in that other land but they did not come to us in war. They had vowed when they left that land neither to rule any land nor to touch a sword while there was still breath in their bodies. Their sisters were no less fair, Cora was sad and dark. She brought her young son with her and her misty eyes spoke of suffering. Myra was the youngest and her beauty was said to dazzle all who saw her. It was rumored that their mother had banished them in favor of other royal siblings but none of them ever spoke of it so that is lost to history. But they came in peace and were received in peace. Their fame spread far and wide and they taught us much of what we know now. They had vowed not to fight or rule but their children had made no such vows and they drove the evil being out from among us and we made them our kings.
